LOVE LETTER FROM LINDA
I'm Linda and this is Hatchett Active. My business dream started all the way back to my young years as a child where I used to skim through fashion magazines, sketch designs with watercolour and just submerge myself with all things fashion / style. I knew deep down one day this would become a reality, owing my own fashion label.
I was lucky enough to be brought up in a multiculture background, my mother was Swedish and my dad Australian. From an early age we travelled to different states of Australia as well as Sweden (where we lived for a couple of years). These times really opened my mind to all things culture & people.

Later as the years passed and I navigated through adulthood I felt I was missing something while living in Brisbane, Australia. I decided unexpectedly to apply for an overseas job over in Dubai. Not knowing much of the place but how it was situated in the middle of the desert - literally, I applied. To my surprise I got offered the position and after a few short months I packed my whole life to relocate to a new country to embark on a new journey, new chapter.
I travelled the world and set foot in 60 different countries while being in Dubai - still currently here to this day. It was truly one of the best things I ever did. The lessons you learn about yourself and others is something no one else can imagine or experience unless you, yourself have done something similar. Then 2019 arrived and you know like many of us we suffered through many ways. For me it really was a turning point and that is when I decided to just go for it. I had no idea where to start, and to be quite honest, it has taken me all these years to work up the courage to put my whole heart into it and not let my inner voice talk me out of it.
I had no idea of production, fabrics or anything business related but I knew deep down it was much more than a label to me. I worked two jobs to fund for Hatchett Active and it has been such a beautiful but tough journey so far. My passion for business and learning was so evident; the only hurdle I kept facing daily is the little mean girl in my head who wants me to fail. ' She would say, 'what if no one likes the brand,' 'what if you fail'. During these times I would have to ask myself, 'Why?' 'Why did you start this?' 'Why is this important to you?'. But my 'why' was greater.
Hatchett Active is more than just a brand to me, it is an extension, and an expression of personal values that I hope can be shared and experienced by you all when you wear your Hatchett Active pieces.
